Q: Can you tell me about your upbringing, where you were raised, and who inspired you?
A: I was born in Virginia, where my father's military service in the Navy laid the foundation for my early education. Later, we moved to New York, where my mother's involvement in communications, especially in political campaigns like Hillary Rodham Clinton's, shaped my understanding of community-driven initiatives. Growing up, I attended various schools, instilling in me a passion for service and community involvement. My mother played a pivotal role in inspiring me, alongside supportive teachers who provided opportunities for exploration in various fields.

Q: What inspired you to run for mayor of Orange?
A:
The inspiration behind my mayoral campaign stems from a deep connection to the people of Orange and a desire to give back to the community. My grandfather, who was a business owner at the time, gave me advice when I was younger that resonates today. He told me, “Always be in the business of the people." Witnessing the struggles of my neighbors and feeling a responsibility to improve our community drove me to run for mayor. I realized that as someone who chose to live in Orange, I couldn't sit idly by without working to improve it, not just for myself but for other families as well.

Q: How long have you been involved in government in Orange?
A:
I've been actively involved in Orange's government for about five years. Before serving as a councilwoman, I participated in the Citizens Budget Advisory Committee and observed council meetings to understand local governance dynamics. Each experience has been instrumental in shaping my approach to addressing community needs and driving positive change.

Q: If elected, what would be your three priorities as Mayor?
A:
First, addressing affordability by reassessing taxes and ensuring that residents can afford to live and raise their families in Orange. Second, revitalizing community health, including investing in the library to offer essential programs and resources. Third, focusing on economic development and infrastructure to support the city's growth sustainably.

Q: How do you plan to ensure transparency and accountability in city government?
A:
Transparency and accountability are crucial. I plan to consolidate city communication channels into one website for easy access to information. Additionally, I'll enhance digital and public relations efforts, ensuring residents are informed about city initiatives and events. For accountability, I'll conduct a thorough assessment of city roles and implement merit-based hiring practices, fostering a culture of excellence and transparency.

Q: How do you envision fostering job creation and economic development in Orange?
A:
I have experience in workforce administration and HR, which I'll leverage to create vocational training programs and summer employment opportunities for youth. Additionally, I'll negotiate with businesses to establish a commercial hub, bringing in new jobs and revenue to Orange. By focusing on job creation and economic growth, we can ensure a thriving future for our city.

Q: In terms of the biggest challenge or threat facing Orange, what would you say that is and how do you plan to address it?
A:
Affordability is the biggest challenge facing Orange, with rising taxes and housing costs threatening residents' ability to live and thrive in the city. I plan to address this by reassessing taxes, revitalizing community health resources, and focusing on sustainable economic development to ensure Orange remains a vibrant and affordable place to call home.

Q: What makes you the best candidate to serve as Mayor of Orange?
A:
I bring relatability, honesty, and a strong work ethic to the table. As a parent, business owner, and community member, I understand the challenges facing Orange residents firsthand. My commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive leadership sets me apart as the best candidate to lead Orange into a prosperous future.
