Hunt for Happiness Week – A Visionary Journey with Deidra Viney
This week, from Jan 21-27, marks the celebration of Hunt for Happiness Week. Finding joy in the simple moments and building connections is at the heart of Deidra Viney's pursuit of happiness. Last September, amidst the backdrop of a proud family moment – dropping her son off at Savannah College of Art and Design – Deidra reflects on the source of her happiness: her family.
Beyond her role as a devoted wife and mother, Deidra is a seasoned entrepreneur, owning two staffing firms, Express Employment Professionals of Edison, NJ, and Jersey City, NJ. With 24 years of business ownership, she has been instrumental in connecting companies with talented individuals and helping people secure fulfilling jobs.
Six years ago, Deidra started the annual vision board event, recognizing the importance of not just setting goals, but visually manifesting them. What started in her home with 15 friends has now evolved into a gathering of 40 women, carefully curated to maintain an intimate atmosphere. Although the event has outgrown her home, its essence remains unchanged – a shared experience that goes beyond the act of creating vision boards. The anticipation surrounding the event each year brings a smile to Deidra's face. Women eagerly look forward to this occasion, a testament to the positive impact it has on their lives. Participants not only engage in the creative process of crafting vision boards but also connect, share stories, enjoy a delightful lunch, and forge new friendships.
Tamika Simmons, owner of Bean Pie Cafe, attests to the transformative nature of Deidra's vision board event. “The event has been very supportive,” says Tamika. “Along with networking with many different women from all walks of life, I have gained an accountability partner who checks in on me often to remind me of my goals.”
Undoubtedly, the annual event stands as a beacon of inspiration, illustrating that happiness is not just found in personal achievements but in the connections, stories, and shared aspirations that enrich our lives. The intimate and supportive atmosphere created by this annual gathering continues to leave a lasting impact on all who participate.
